We know that sometimes you need dedicated support that helps your family. Our Outreach team does just that – offering home visits and one-to-one meetings at the children’s centre.
This gives you the chance to tell us about the challenges you’re facing, and to let us help you find a way through. We do this in lots of ways – by encouraging you to get specialist help if you need it, and referring you to the right people so that you can take positive steps towards a happy, more secure family life. The Outreach team are always present in groups and sessions. You can also request to speak to the duty worker at Reception.
The Children’s Centre works closely with health partners to provide the following services:
- One and two year developmental checks – booked directly through your health visitor
- Midwife appointments – booked directly through your midwife
- Drop-in baby clinics – a chance to have your baby weighed and to ask for advice and guidance from health visitors
- Breastfeeding support group – ‘Snuggles and cuddles’. We are a breastfeeding-friendly centre and our Outreach team is trained to give you initial support to continue breastfeeding
All these services are free to the families within our areas. We create a warm, welcoming and comfortable space at our centre where families feel comfortable to spend time, ask questions and learn more about positive family life.
