Target audience: EYFS and Key Stage 1 Practitioners

Trainers: Anna Allen and Carina Edwards

Carina is a highly experienced, qualified teacher and has worked with a range of year groups in EYFS and Key Stage 1. Anna is a qualified Early Years Educator with extensive experience and interest in child development through sensory experiences. Together, they have expanded engaging with nature as part of the rich continuous provision to support children’s all-round learning in EYFS.

Brief course content

  • An opportunity to explore the benefits of engaging with nature.
  • An exploration of the adult role when engaging with nature.
  • How to manage adventurous and risky play outdoors.
  • There will be a Q&A in which you will have an opportunity to present your questions.

Expected outcomes

  • Know the difference between outdoor play and engaging with nature.
  • Know how to embed engaging with nature in your provision.
  • Know how to manage risk outdoors.
