If your child is aged 2-5 years, they can start their school life at our wonderful nursery school.
We follow the same term times as Surrey maintained schools, and we’re open for a range of sessions from 08.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday at Hazel Avenue and 09.00 to 15.30 Monday to Friday at York Road.

Two-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours per week free childcare for 38 weeks per year (normally in term time) where parents and carers meet certain eligibility criteria. We offer either morning or afternoon sessions:
Monday to Friday 09.00 – 12.00
Monday to Friday 12.30 – 15.30
Please call us to register your child or find out more.
In England all three and four year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours of free early education and childcare a week for up to 38 weeks a year. Children become eligible to receive this from the start of the term following their third birthday. This is to give children the opportunity to take part in planned learning activities, and help prepare them for school through the early learning goals set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
This is a universal offer and is available to all children regardless of their family circumstances. You can find out more at www.surreycc.gov.uk/payingforchildcare
We offer the following sessions:
Monday to Friday 09.00 – 12.00
Monday and Tuesday 09.15 – 15.15
Wednesday 09.00 – 12.00
Wednesday 12.30 – 15.30
Thursday and Friday 09.15 – 15.15
Some children may also be eligible for up to 30 free hours per week, if they meet certain criteria. Please call us to register your child or find out more.
Eligibility criteria for 3-4 year olds – 30 hours free education
The additional 15 hours will be available to families where both parents, or the sole parent in a lone-parent family:
- are working and earn on average a weekly minimum amount equivalent to working 16 hours at either National Minimum Wage (NMW) or National Living Wage (NLW)
- have an income of less than £100,000 each per year.
Approved families will be offered their first 15 hours over 5 mornings or 5 afternoons. Additional entitlement will be given across the remaining 5 mornings or 5 afternoons to make a full 30 hour week of 09.00- 15.30, Monday to Friday with paid lunch sessions. This is because families may find they are no longer eligible for the additional hours during the year and will need to revert back to their 15 hours free entitlement sessions.
If your child is aged three or over you can apply now at www.surreycc.gov.uk/30hourschildcare. Once your eligibility is confirmed you will be given an 11 digit code which you will need to give to us. You will need to reconfirm your eligibility every three months to continue claiming the additional 15 hours.
We are happy to help you with applications for any of these options. Please ask at Reception, or contact us to find out more.
