Families First Guildford is looking for a Team Leader to join our team as soon as possible.

The post is full time for 52 weeks a year, 36 hours a week and permanent.

Families First Guildford delivers a joined-up offer of family resilience and safeguarding services for families with children 0 – 18 years (up to 25 years to support those with additional needs), based on a clear understanding of local needs across a district & borough.

We work across the borough of Guildford with two main sites at Guildford Nursery School, Hazel Avenue and at The Spinney, Park Barn.

As a Team Leader you will lead and manage the day to day delivery of targeted help in the borough, supervising a team of Family Support Workers and Assistant Family Support Workers. You will also hold a case load of families.

This post would ideally suit a Social Worker who is looking to work within the early help field. We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person who is:

  • Level 5 qualified in education, health and/or social care or has equivalent experience of managing a service in a related field
  • Qualified in leadership and management or willing to undertake a qualification
  • Positive, flexible, responsible and with a passion for working with families
  • Keen to make a real impact within and beyond their own team
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and able to prioritise and manage a busy workload
  • Able to work in partnership with parents and carers to reduce inequalities in children’s outcomes

Salary: PS9 scale £38,746 – £42,053

Starting salary: £38,746
